About Stockholm

Stockholm, often referred to as the capital of Scandinavia, is located on 14 islands. The city has a large amount of parks and greenery ensuring that you are never too far away from the water or the nature surrounding it. The city being situated in the middle of Stockholm's archipelago which consists of over 30.000 islands makes taking a boat tour a must.
Visiting the Old Town give you a feeling of the rich historic past of the city. The old buildings have been well preserved with winding roads that have small shops filled with antiques and art galleries at every corner. The Royal Palace can be seen here, being one of the largest palace in Stockoholm it is also the official residence of the swedish Royal Family.
The island of Djurgarden holds many of the city's 100 museums and other attractions including the world's first National City Park. It stretches over 10 kilometers through the heart of the city giving you a chance to spot all sorts of wildlife including deer, squirrels and even elks. The island also boasts the largest open air museum in the world, Skansen.
To get the best view of Stockholm, you should visit Stadshuset,where the conference welcome-reception will be held on the 28th of August. Climb to the top of the tower and experience the city from above. Taking the Skyview on the top Globen is another way to enjoy many views of the city from above.

How to reach Stockholm
Stockholm has a number of international airports. Arlanda Airport is the biggest airport in Sweden and is located 40 km outside the city flying to over 160 destinations worldwide. There are other smaller airports around the city which are also served by international flights.
For those travelling from Norway, Denmark or Germany there is also the possibility of taking the train or bus to Stockholm which arrives at the Central Station. For more information, please visit SJ.
How to reach AlbaNova
From the airport to Stockholm Central Station:
Arlanda Aiport
Airport coaches leave regularly from the airport terminals for Stockholm Central Station. The journey takes 45 minutes and will cost 99 SEK.
The Arlanda Express Train leaves every 15 minutes from the airport and goes directly to Stockholm Cental Station. The journey takes 20 minutes and will cost 260 SEK.
Taxis are also available from the aiport. Prices may vary. Many taxi companies offer a fixed price of about 450 SEK (approximately 50€) from Arlanda Airport to Stockholm City.

Bromma Aiport
Airport coaches leave regularly from the airport to Stockholm Central Station. The journey takes 20 minutes and will cost 74 SEK.

Skavsta Airport
Airport caoches leave regularly from the airport to Stockholm Central Station. The journey takes 80 minutes and will cost 119 SEK.

From the Central Station to Albanova take the T-bana red line to "tekniska-Högskolan" and change to bus 43 Ruddammen or bus 44 Ruddammen and get off at the final stop "Ruddammen". The AlbaNova University Center is a short walking distance from the bus stop as shown in the map below.
